CEL marked its footsteps in the maritime sector in the 1990s with the re-engineering of a highly sophisticated Bangladesh Navy vessel. The success of completing a highly complex project established CEL as a competent technology player in the industry and led to the undertaking of one prominent project after another. CEL partnered with Damen Shipyard to construct two high-power harbor tug boats, intended for tugging high Naval Ships and equipped with the latest firefighting equipment. CEL also provided the design and material package for Khulna Shipyard Ltd. to build a Patrol Boat for Bangladesh Coast Guard in cooperation with ASIMAR, Thailand along with specialized technical services. Apart from these examples, the accomplishments of lucrative maritime projects have made CEL a significant name in the marine industry for providing top-notch engineering solutions.
